💛 FIRST-THEN & SEQUENCING ➡️
Knowing what’s happening now—and what comes next—can make routines and transitions feel a little more predictable. đź’› Here you’ll find First-Then, First-Then-Last, and sequencing tools that visually show the order of activities. I’ll also share how we’re using these tools with James and what they look like in our everyday routines.

First-Then Board with Cards
This First-Then Board visually shows what is happening first and what is coming next. đź’› The set includes a variety of activity, routine, school, play, and transition cards that can be switched out depending on what your child needs throughout the day.

How We're Using It With James:
We use First-Then language with James throughout his day, especially when he needs a little extra help understanding what’s coming next. Having the visual along with our words gives him another way to see the order of what’s happening instead of only hearing us say it.

We switch the cards depending on what we’re doing and what James needs at that moment. Sometimes it’s part of his routine, sometimes it helps with a transition, and other times it’s showing him what we’re doing now and what he can expect afterward. For us, it’s another way to make his day a little more predictable without putting pressure on him. đź’›
