Welcome to
The James Project
Autism Tools & Learning
The James Project was created from real life — the challenges, progress, learning, and little victories that have come with raising my autistic son, James.
What began as creating visual supports to help James with communication, routines, transitions, and everyday life has grown into a space where I can share what I've learned, create personalized tools for other families, and offer parent-to-parent support.
This is also a place where faith is part of the conversation. My relationship with God has carried me through many parts of this journey, and I openly share the role faith plays in our lives alongside autism resources, real-life experiences, and encouragement.
Whether you're a parent looking for a visual, someone searching for practical ideas, or simply needing a place where you feel understood — you're welcome here. 💛

Meet the Heart Behind The James Project 💛

I'm James' mom — and this project grew from our journey together.
James has completely reshaped the way I understand communication, patience, and what it means to truly connect with a child. He's taught me to slow down, look beyond what others may simply see as “behavior,” listen differently, and meet him where he is.
Along the way, I found myself constantly learning — researching, taking classes, talking with therapists and professionals, asking questions, and most importantly, learning directly from James. When I couldn't find a tool that fit what he needed in a particular moment, I started creating my own.
Those simple tools and visuals became part of our everyday life. Eventually, I started sharing them with other parents, teachers, therapists, and school teams, and The James Project grew from there.
Today, this space is about more than visuals. It's about sharing practical tools, real-life experiences, encouragement, faith, and parent-to-parent support. I don't have all the answers, and every child's needs are different, but I'm happy to share what I've learned and walk alongside other parents as they figure out what works for their own family.
Everything here comes from lived experience, a whole lot of learning, my love for James, and my desire to make another parent's day feel just a little bit easier.
If you're here, you've found a place where you're understood and welcomed. 💛
