🏡 DAILY ROUTINES & INDEPENDENCE 🏡

Visuals to help make everyday routines, self-care, and building independence a little easier. I’ll also share how we’re using them with James along the way. 💛

Potty Schedule: Visual potty training schedule for children.

Potty Schedule

A step-by-step visual schedule to help your child see what comes next during the potty routine—from going to the bathroom all the way through washing hands and being all done.

HOW WE’RE USING IT WITH JAMES:
We use this visual with James to make the potty routine more predictable and give him something he can look at instead of relying only on verbal reminders. We can point to each step as we go and show him what’s happening now and what comes next. The goal isn’t to rush him through the routine—it’s to give him visual support while he works toward more independence. 💛

Bedtime Schedule: Visual bedtime routine for children.

Bedtime Visual Schedule

A five-step visual schedule to help your child see what comes next during the bedtime routine—from bath time all the way to lights out.

HOW WE’RE USING IT WITH JAMES:
We use this visual with James to make bedtime feel more predictable by showing him the routine and what comes next. We can point to each step as we move through bath time, pajamas, brushing teeth, bedtime story, and lights out. It gives him something visual to refer back to instead of relying only on verbal reminders. 🌙💙

I Brushed My Teeth Reward Chart: Teeth brushing reward chart for children.

I Brushed My Teeth! Reward Chart

A simple and fun tooth-brushing reward chart your child can use to celebrate each time they brush their teeth and work their way from start to “You Did It!” ⭐

HOW WE’RE USING IT WITH JAMES:
We use this chart with James to make brushing his teeth a little more visual and motivating. After he brushes, he can mark another space and see his progress toward the end of the chart. It gives him something concrete to look forward to while helping us keep tooth brushing positive and encouraging. ⭐🪥

Leaving the House: Visual schedule for getting ready to leave home.

Leaving the House Visual

Getting out the door can involve a lot of little steps! This visual breaks the routine down into an easy-to-follow sequence: bathroom, shoes, coat, backpack, and get in the car.

How We're Using It With James:

We keep this visual on the wall near James’s things so he can easily look at it and follow the steps as he gets ready to leave the house. Having the routine displayed right where he gets ready gives him a visual reminder of what comes next and supports more independence along the way.

Want to make this visual—or any of our visuals—interactive? You can book a Custom Digital Visual Request online, and we can create an interactive version personalized to your needs. 💛

After-School Schedule: Visual routine for after-school activities.

After School Visual Schedule

After school can be a big transition, especially when your child is coming home from a full day and still has several things ahead of them. This visual gives them a way to actually see what the rest of their day looks like — home, snack, play, dinner, and bath — instead of having to wonder what’s coming next.

How We're Using It With James:

With James, we use this so he can see what his afternoon looks like once he gets home from school. We can go over it together and then come back to it throughout the afternoon. He knows when he gets home he’ll have a snack, get time to play, then we’ll have dinner and eventually move into bath time. Having it where he can see it makes the routine much easier for him to understand.

Want an interactive version?
I can also make this into an interactive visual if that works better for your child! I can personalize it around your child’s actual after-school routine and what they do at home. You can book a Custom Digital Visual Request under Book Now. 💛

Clean My Room Checklist: Visual checklist for cleaning a bedroom.

Clean My Room Checklist

Make cleaning up feel a little more manageable! This interactive checklist breaks cleaning a room into simple visual steps. Children can move a checkmark onto each box as they complete the task, giving them a clear beginning, middle, and end while encouraging independence. 💙

How We're Using It With James:

Instead of telling James to “clean his room,” I can use this visual to show him exactly what needs to be done one step at a time. As he finishes each task, he can add a checkmark to the box himself. I love that it gives him something visual and hands-on while helping him practice completing everyday routines more independently. ⭐

Brushing Teeth Visual: Step-by-step visual guide for brushing teeth.

Brushing Teeth Visual

Make brushing teeth a little more predictable with a visual routine! This step-by-step visual breaks brushing teeth into five steps children can follow from start to finish, helping make an everyday self-care routine easier to understand. 🪥✨

How We're Using It With James:

Brushing teeth is part of James’s everyday routine, and having the steps visually laid out gives him something concrete to follow instead of relying only on verbal directions. We can go through each step together while giving him time to process and complete it before moving on to the next. My goal is to continue building his confidence and independence with everyday self-care routines. 💙

Want It Personalized or Interactive?

Every child’s routine looks a little different! I can personalize this visual with different steps, wording, or images to better fit your child, or I can create an interactive version that allows your child to physically mark each step as they complete it. ✨

Both options can be booked under Book Online.

My Bus Routine: Visual schedule for riding the school bus.

My Bus Routine

An 8-step visual designed to help your child become familiar with the school bus routine, from waiting at the bus stop to arriving at school. It offers a visual reference to support understanding and predictability throughout the ride.

How We're Using It With James:

We use this visual to help James understand what to expect when riding the school bus. It breaks down the different parts of his bus routine, including getting on the bus, finding his seat, and knowing when it's time to get off. Having those steps pictured gives us another way to talk through his school day and help him feel more prepared for the transition.
