🌳 COMMUNITY & OUTINGS 🌳
Visuals to help support communication and understanding while out in the community. I’ll also share a little about how we use them with James. đź’š

Zoo Communication Cards
Communication cards designed to give your child another way to communicate while exploring the zoo.

HOW WE’RE USING IT WITH JAMES:
We use these cards to give James a visual way to communicate while we’re at the zoo. He can use them to share what he sees and communicate about the animals around him. He can communicate however works for him—by pointing, using his AAC, using his voice, or another way. The goal is giving him another way to share his message while enjoying the experience.

Going to the Park Social Story
A visual story designed to help your child know what to expect when going to the park and make the outing feel a little more predictable.

HOW WE’RE USING IT WITH JAMES:
We read this with James before going to the park to help him know what to expect. We can look through it before we leave or again when he needs it. Having a visual of what might happen helps us prepare him for things like waiting, taking turns, taking a break if it feels too busy or loud, and knowing when it’s time to leave. đź’›

Grocery Store Visual Schedule
Make grocery store trips a little more predictable with this simple step-by-step visual. It shows each part of the outing, from getting ready and traveling to the store to shopping, waiting, paying, and going home.

How We're Using It With James:
We review the visual before leaving and use it during the trip when needed. It helps James see what’s happening now and what comes next while supporting transitions, independence, and familiarity with the grocery store routine.

Want an interactive version? I can also turn this into an interactive visual if your child prefers a more hands-on format. Interactive versions can be personalized to better fit your child’s needs and routine. Visit Book Now to book a Custom Digital Visual Request. 💛
